The MIL Campus is a high-end rental apartment project located on the former Canadian Pacific Railway yard in Montreal’s New Outremont neighbourhood. Situated within the University of Montreal’s (UdeM) campus, the design of the different buildings enhances the sense of connection to the academic landscape, offering residents easy access to nearby parks, bike paths, and the Outremont and Acadie metro stations.

Spanning over 700 units across three six-story buildings, the MIL project caters to students seeking proximity to their university, as well as professionals and retirees who prefer to avoid the responsibilities of homeownership. The development encourages residents to adopt an urban lifestyle where urban farming, communal kitchens, and collaborative workspaces come together to foster community living. The project integrates seamlessly with the surrounding landscape, complementing the neighbourhood’s colours and enhancing the campus’s green spaces. The MIL buildings blend into the neighbourhood, aligning with future landscape development plans within the campus.

The MIL buildings were designed to meet LEED Neighborhood standards and promote collective residential environments that reflect smart growth principles, urban planning, and sustainable construction. The project aims to exceed the original sustainability goals set by UdeM and the City of Montreal, focusing on advanced water management, energy efficiency, and functional performance, while prioritizing the social aspects of the infrastructure.
