We are pleased to announce that the redevelopment and expansion project for the Agora des Arts in Rouyn-Noranda has won a Grand Prix du Design 2025 in the “Adaptive Reuse” category.

Winner of an architectural competition, the project reimagines the former Notre-Dame-de-Protection Church by introducing a new cultural vocation that revitalizes the entire site. The addition of a performance hall is paired with a thoughtful, contemporary extension that integrates seamlessly with the church’s main volume.

Each intervention was envisioned as an act of transmission, where heritage and creativity converge to carry forward the cultural legacy of this emblematic Abitibi-Témiscamingue landmark.
