The Strategic Evolution of Davies Ward Phillips & Vineberg's Offices

We are thrilled to announce our most recent achievement: the complete redesign of the five floors of Davies Ward Phillips & Vineberg’s offices. At Chevalier Morales, we believe that architecture possesses the potential not only to shape the physical environment but also to influence the culture of an organization. The project, called Imagine 1501, reveals the possibilities offered by a professional setting that invests in the excellence of its activities. Emphasizing quality and timeless design, the new Montreal offices of Davies now reflect the firm’s esteemed expertise. Rising several floors within 1501 McGill College – also known as La Tour McGill - Davies enhances its connection to Montreal’s downtown core and solidifies its repu¬tation across North America. From the decision to maintain its presence on the city’s most coveted commercial artery to the careful selection of materials, this project carries a distinct local signature, rooted in the essence of Quebec and Montreal.

Partnering with Chevalier Morales, Davies sought to revitalize the workspaces they had occupied since 1994, spanning five floors and totaling approximately 73,500 square feet. The renovation of all levels, including the common areas, strengthens the firm’s distinct character through elegant simplicity and the quality of its installations. These improvements optimize space management and elevate the quality of lighting, acoustics, ergonomics, and inclusivity, all in pursuit of providing ideal conditions for members, collaborators, and clients alike.

Guided by the values of authenticity and collaboration that define Davies, the new office configuration incorporates a wide range of shared workspaces and opportunities for social interaction within common areas. Attuned to the ever-evolving professional landscape, the offices are equipped with adaptable technology, to support growth and the potential future redefinition of spaces.

A Transformative Vision

Imagine 1501 stands as a testament to the transformative potential of designing a professional workspace centered around the needs of its users. Nestled in the heart of Montreal, the project redefines what a law firm can be, combining timeless elegance with high-quality design while enhancing both the functionality of the spaces and the comfort of its employees. The decision to maintain its offices within the iconic McGill Tower, a commercial landmark of Montreal, further reinforces the firm’s deep roots in the downtown core.

Chevalier Morales ensured that the project mirrored Davies’ professional culture, reflecting the firm’s values of authenticity, collaboration, and excellence in both its meeting spaces and more intimate areas. The integration of technological systems capable of evolving within the office spaces was carefully planned to allow the firm to grow and adapt to the challenges of the years ahead.
